Readings for CSCI 384

Unless otherwise specified, reading assignments for CSCI 384 entail sending me (by email) a response consisting in

• one positive thing ("they made a good point with...", "I agreed with their observation that...", "I understand this better now...", "this made we want to learn more about...").
• one negative thing ("I think they were wrong to say...", "this part was unclear...", "I wasn't convinced with...")

Keep it short---about two sentences for each part. I will read your responses quickly. I will record that you did them but usually not respond.

The point of the reading responses is to

• encourage active reading,
• prove that you actually read it, and
• give me a feel for what the class is thinking.

Strive to complete the reading and response the night before class (or earlier---I mean avoid waiting till the morning of) so that I will be able to read the responses before class.
